ALVASTRON

Inspired by the Alabastron which originated in ancient Egypt as containers carved from alabaster - hence the name - and spread through Ancient Greece to other parts of the world.

Designed and handmade in Athens, Greece by ceramic artist Elena Vasilantonaki, the hands behind PilosClayArt.  

Elena uses the coil method to build her contemporary vessels each with an ancient feel. 

Hand built with coils, Stoneware clay, porcelain slip, textured surface, glazed interior, can hold water.
